HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New year and hope you all enjoyed the Christmas period.
We finished 2019 with 144 winners with a cracking 75 winners this calendar year, we shall be aiming for 100 in 2020 and hopefully we might be able to get some top races under our belt at some point in the coming year.
Towstar ZELDA ended the 2019 in great fashion winning her A4 in 27.86 in over 3 lengths, shares are still available in her for just £60 with no kennel fees with the newly crowned CHAMPION TRAINER MARK WALLIS as her trainer.
TOWSTAR BILLY was voted the Towstar dog of the year by our 160 strong members and rightly so with 12 wins in 2019, he will have a little well earned rest now.
TOWSTAR EVITA got a long overdue win recently and WINSTON was unlucky not to also win recently at HENLOW.
Tomorrow sees the racetrack debut for TOWSTAR IZZY, shes has been running green in her trials, but showing some real promise too and she will fly through the grades with more experience (may well find herself at Towcester) and is a very exciting prospect for 2020, this very young girl still has shares available for £250 for 5% with your share of the kennel fees.
Earlier in the week I managed to visit the lovely kennels of ANNELIESE THOMPSON to see TOWSTARS FREDDIE, VIXEN, POPPY and YOGI.
It was lovely to see Freddie looking so happy with his cast now off, Yogi enjoyed his walk with myself and later on in the evening Vixen ran a cracking 500m trial back after kennel cough which made her miss the Oaks, she will now be entered into a bitches only open race at NOTTINGHAM and im very excited to see what this girl can do this year.
TOWSTAR CIARA has been running consistently well in defeat at Monmore, whilst it will be interesting to see how TOWSTAR QUEENIE does in a puppy handicap running off scratch at NEWCASTLE tomorrow.
TOWSTAR OREO has been a revelation since making his long awaited debut at SHEFFIELD, having a hat trick of wins and he looks like he will only improve when he goes over 6 bends and he still isn't even 2 years old yet!
January will see more steps on the experience ladder for TOWSTARS LES, YOGI, PADDY (our first irish dog) BORIS (our first ROMFORD dog) shares still available in Yogi, Paddy and Boris, check our shares for sale page for more details.
Finally ive been asked by a fair few people which 5 TOWSTAR dogs are worth following in 2020.
1.Ive been highly impressed by TOWSTAR YOGI in his handslips at ASKERN recently and he looks the real deal to me.
2.Another ANNELIESE THOMPSON trained Towstar is TOWSTAR VIXEN she needs a consistent run of races to see what she can really do and come the summer I expect her to be competing at a decent level.
3.My third TOWSTAR to follow for 2020 is TOWSTAR PADDY our new irish recruit.
Trained by the runner up in the trainers championship MARGARET BOLTON, PADDY has really started to muscle and fill out and looks a machine of the gallops, he has already done a very respectable trail for a puppy at Shelbourne park which led us to buy him in the first place and I am very excited to see where this lad could take us in 2020, shares for him wont be around long once he hits the track.
4. TOWSTAR OREO has been hugely impressive at SHEFFIELD staying on a ton to the drop over 500m and he will only improve, again another exciting prospect especially over 6 bends.
5. TOWSTAR LES, we have wrapped him in cotton wool since he arrived in England, a litter mate to Yogi...…….. just watch this space.
Safe and sound to everyone in 2020!!
